Mobile App
Admyt is a smart parking solution designed to simplify parking experiences through automation. I worked on a short-term project with them, focusing specifically on improving their onboarding process and conducting a full journey walkthrough. Over the 3-month period, I contributed to the development of their design system to ensure consistency across the platform. I also led a few internal workshops and created medium-fidelity prototypes for user interviews to gather insights and inform design decisions.
Brief
Admyt needed to revamp and revisit their biggest churn flow, their sign up and onboarding.
Having massive friction, functional problems, as well as a 50/50 split on user satisfaction, they want the sign up and onboarding experience to be extremely valuable.
Challenges
The biggest challenge I faced was with the adoption of the platform itself, mostly due to the information the users need to share with the company itself.
A massive focus was placed on educating the users on the platform, while also showing value as to what the benefits are for sharing.
The timeline I had with them had to be split between user interviews, internal workshops, development upgrades and updates, low fidelity wireframes and high fidelity prototypes, ready for development. This timeframe within 3 months meant that I had to focus on multiple workstreams at the same time.
Methodologies
-
Deconstructive Approach: Adopted a deconstructive method by breaking down the existing Admyt app and stitching it back together. This allowed for a deeper understanding of the current user experience and laid the foundation for improvements.
-
Low-Fidelity Rapid Design: Focused on rapid prototyping with low-fidelity designs to quickly iterate on ideas and gather feedback. User testing and interviews played a crucial role during this phase, allowing us to refine the designs based on real user feedback.
-
Design System-Driven Approach: Employed a design system-driven approach for high-fidelity designs, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform. This method also streamlined the developer handover process, making it efficient for implementation.
-
User-Centric Testing: Conducted user testing and interviews as part of the iterative design process to validate key features and improve the overall user experience based on direct insights.
-
Internal Workshops: Organized internal workshops to foster collaboration between teams, aligning the project’s objectives with the platform's overarching goals.
Results
The onboarding itself was extremely welcomed by both the business and the existing users we interviewed.
Frictionless ideas we came up with, helped new users to sign up in under 2 minutes, and can be done from any convenient location.
This will drive up adoption rates from both new and existing users.
