Webapp

C2 The Book is a platform, similar to JunoYuno, that allows businesses to manage and hire talent and communities. I took the platform from 0-1, overseeing all design work from the ground up. This included conducting UX workshops, setting up user flows, and creating wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes. I also implemented the entire design system to ensure consistency. In addition, I prepared presentations for major brands like Bumble and Steven Bartlett, ensuring their needs were met with strategic and impactful design solutions.

Brief

The Product itself is a new concept within the talent management and engagement space. The Book needs to be able to handle a multitude of different tasks, automations and flexibility.
The main focus will be MVP, so the first iteration needs to be scalable for future use, but still be great for take-to-market.

Challenges

Seeing that this product will be a bunch of different platforms in one, I needed to find and use the best from each of the competitors. The platform's idea and interactions needed to be fleshed out before any work could be done.
Working on an automations system within the platform, was probably the biggest challenge, as we needed to structure the interactions to be easily set up by any level of user, allow for automations and integrations, as well as link tasks throughout the user journey.
Due to the nature of the timing, project and budget, I also didn't have much time to work in low fidelity, meaning I had to jump into high fidelity quite quickly, without immediate support from an existing design system.

Methodologies

  • Design Sprinting: Worked in design sprints to address immediate needs and rapidly establish a design structure from scratch. This approach ensured the platform was set up quickly and efficiently, focusing on immediate priorities.

  • User Testing & Research: Conducted extensive user interviews and testing of real-life demo sessions using high-fidelity design prototypes. Quantitative and qualitative research played a significant role in shaping design decisions, ensuring user-centric solutions.

  • Design System Approach: Adopted a design system-guided approach to high-fidelity prototypes, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform. This approach guaranteed that design elements could be reused effectively throughout the platform, maintaining coherence and efficiency.

  • UX Law Application: Since time was a constraint, low-fidelity designs were bypassed. Instead, UX laws such as Jacob’s Law were employed to inform rapid prototyping and guide design decisions.

  • Rapid Prototyping: Rapid prototyping was essential in building the platform quickly, allowing for iterative improvements and real-time adjustments based on user feedback and testing insights.

  • Developer Collaboration: Worked closely with developers throughout the process to find practical solutions and ensure the final results aligned with the platform's goals. This collaboration was key in guiding and executing design decisions seamlessly.

  • Workshop-Driven Process: Internal workshops fostered collaboration across teams, driving iterative improvements and aligning design efforts with the overall objectives of the platform.
